Macron Hopes G7 Countries Will Approve $50 Billion Aid to Kyiv
French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed hope that the G7 countries will approve plans to allocate $50 billion in aid to Kyiv during the summit to be held in Italy in mid-June. “We hope that the G7 summit will reaffirm the commitment to provide $50 billion in assistance to Ukraine,” Macron said at a joint press conference with U.S. President Joe Biden after talks at the Élysée Palace.
He noted the common approach of Paris and Washington to support Kyiv “for as long as necessary.” The French President expects that issues regarding aid to Ukraine will be discussed at a conference in Switzerland in June and at the NATO summit in Washington in July.
