Edita

In Georgia, all employees of the "Daryal" Trade and Industry Chamber at the Georgian-Russian border have been evacuated due to an emergency situation, according to the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, as reported by Sputnik Georgia.

It has been noted that early in the morning, detectors recorded a rise in the water level in the Devdorak River. While verifying this information, it was decided to evacuate the employees of the Emergency Management. A helicopter from the border police has already taken to the air with personnel from the responsible services to inspect the area.

Additionally, for preventive measures, the highway near the village of Gvelleti has been closed in both directions. It should be reminded that the road from Georgia to Russia and vice versa is now closed to all types of vehicles as of today. Traffic is also prohibited on the Gudauri-Kobi section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars international highway due to the risk of avalanches.

Currently, about 300 Armenian cargo trucks are stranded at the Upper Lars checkpoint heading towards Russia, while another 300 are stuck on the Russian side heading towards Armenia.
