“They gathered their column members and tried to present them as residents of Sotk”: Gegharkunik Governor
On June 5, the "Tavush for the Homeland" movement marched to Gegharkunik province and then held a rally in the border town of Sotk, where territories have been occupied by the enemy since 2022.
According to circulating reports, Gegharkunik Governor Karen Sargsyan strictly prohibited employees of institutions under the governor's office from participating in the rally invited by the "Tavush for the Homeland" movement in Sotk.
ArmLur.am inquired with the Gegharkunik governor about what instructions he had issued and why.
-They have no shame; how can they do such false “tricks” to show why they are failing in something?
-Mr. Sargsyan, but a considerable number of people attended the rally.
-Are you serious? It wasn't that there was not a large crowd; they gathered their column members and tried to present them as residents of Sotk.
-Mr. Sargsyan, but participants were introducing themselves as residents of the region. Where do you get the conviction that they were not from Gegharkunik?
-A few people may have participated from the region. I don't want to talk about this anymore.
