Slovenian Parliament Approves Recognition of Palestinian Independence
On Tuesday evening, the Slovenian Parliament voted in favor of a decree recognizing Palestine as an independent state. Out of 90 lawmakers, 52 voted in favor, according to AFP.
It was noted that the opposition made dramatic attempts to disrupt the voting process; however, despite their efforts, the vote proceeded.
Following the vote, Slovenia's Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon stated that the recognition of Palestinian independence is a manifestation of the country's commitment to peace and justice.
