What Serzh Sargsyan and Bishop Bagrat Discussed
The leader of the "Tavush for the Homeland" movement, Bishop Bagrat, and former President Serzh Sargsyan recently met at Sargsyan's residence in Dzoraghbyur. This meeting, as reported by the "Hayrapet" newspaper, took place a few days ago.
Bishop Bagrat discussed his views on the movement's future strategies, stating that he was initially in favor of transferring the processes to parliament and expressing distrust in the Prime Minister. However, he noted that they are currently moving in the opposite direction, aiming to increase pressure from the streets before entering the parliament.
According to our sources, Sargsyan informed the bishop that before the movement's relocation to Yerevan, members of the Republican Party had offered support to the "Tavush for the Homeland" initiative, visiting Kirants periodically in groups. He assured Bagrat that they would support the movement to the end, emphasizing that this struggle is truly a "battle for expectations" for both the Republican Party and himself, with their ultimate goal being to remove Nikol from power. Afterwards, they might not have any place within the state governance system.
It is also worth noting that approximately 15 days before launching the movement, Bishop Bagrat met with Armenia's first President, Levon Ter-Petrosyan.
