Sanosyan Addresses Construction of Parents' $230,000 Villa
The villa belongs to our entire family and is being built for my parents. This was stated by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan, during a conversation with journalists regarding the construction of a villa worth $230,000 for his retired mother.
“We're building this so they can move from Martuni and live there, and my brothers and I can visit them regularly,” he said.
Sanosyan emphasized that his brothers work hard and are investing in construction. “They are involved in asphalt and construction work; they have a company of their own. If the journalist writing the article were a bit more attentive, he would have opened and read the names of those companies and seen their annual turnover, and then no questions would arise about the $230,000,” noted the minister.
When asked if they would have been able to build such a villa during the previous government, Gnel Sanosyan replied, “During the previous administration, my father, my brothers, and I managed to buy three apartments of considerable value. I don’t know why you’re not talking about that. We were able to turn our parental home from one floor into two. Yes, we lived well because we worked hard. If things go well, we won’t stop at just one house; we’ll build a second and a third. I understand that it might be surprising to you that I have held a high position in the republic for so many years, particularly in the significant field of road construction and building, but my brothers continue to be where they have always been, engaged in what they have always done.”
