Putin Reveals Number of Prisoners of War on Russian and Ukrainian Sides

There are approximately 1,350 Russian soldiers and officers in captivity in Ukraine, while around 6,470 Ukrainian soldiers are held in Russia. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with leaders of global news agencies at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum.

"I can tell you the exact numbers regarding how many individuals are in captivity on both sides. There are 1,348 of our soldiers and officers on the Ukrainian side. We have 6,465 Ukrainian soldiers in captivity," said Putin.

Putin did not disclose the number of casualties among the Russian Armed Forces, stating that warring parties do not provide such data. At the same time, he added that Ukraine's irretrievable losses exceed Russia's by five times.

"This is related to Ukraine's attempt to conduct total mobilization, as losses on the battlefield are very high. The Ukrainian army loses about 50,000 personnel monthly, and the irretrievable and sanitary losses of Ukrainians are about 50/50," noted Putin.

It should be mentioned that representatives from unfriendly countries are also participating in the meeting with leaders of global news agencies at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum.
