Edita
The China National Space Administration has announced that the Chinese "Chang'e 6" lander has successfully touched down on the far side of the Moon. The information was reported by the Xinhua News Agency.
The device landed in the South Pole-Aitken Basin, in a pre-selected landing area. The mission's goal is to collect soil samples.
This marks China's sixth mission within the "Chang'e" lunar exploration program. During the "Chang'e 5" mission, China brought back samples from the near side of the Moon in 2020.
