Misappropriation of 4.5 Million Drams in State Funds at Aghdzk Mine
In the Republican Rehabilitation Center (Aghdzk Mine), there has been a gross misappropriation of approximately 4.5 million drams in state funds. This information was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
It has been established that between 2017 and 2022, the center's director and two employees conspired to falsify documents and commit large-scale fraud.
Specific employees created 526 fake medical records for 20 individuals categorized as socially disadvantaged and belonging to special groups. These records were entered into the "ARMED" system as medical services provided under state orders, resulting in the fraudulent acquisition and misappropriation of around 4.5 million drams from the state budget.
Data comparison revealed that in some cases, individuals were not present in the Republic of Armenia at all, yet medical services were recorded using their biometric data as if they had received these services under state orders.
During the investigation, medical records related to the aforementioned 20 individuals were seized from the company and subjected to inspection. It was found that in certain instances, individuals had received treatment at the center, but not during the periods recorded in the "ARMED" system; rather, they received treatment in different months and days of the same year.
Throughout the investigation, the aforementioned damages to the state have been fully restored. The investigation is ongoing.
