Which Roads Remain Closed
The Rescue Service reports that there are closed roads in the territory of Armenia. A partial collapse has occurred in the pedestrian section of the bridge near the village of Getapnya in the Ararat region, which has resulted in the suspension of traffic on the bridge.
According to the Road Department, the Vanadzor – Alaverdi – Ayrium – Bagratashen road is closed. Drivers are advised to reroute from the Georgian border using the M-6 to bypass via M-3 Margara-Vanadzor-Tashir-RA border as well as the M-1 Yerevan-Gyumri-RA border interstate road.
The M-4, Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan-RA border road is passable from Dilijan to Ijevan. However, traffic is one-way in certain sections. The bridge leading to the villages of Khashtarak and Lusahovit is completely closed.
MP Aren Mkrtchyan from the “Civil Contract” faction mentioned on his Facebook page: “We are at the food accumulation center in Alaverdi; it’s the sports school that has been repurposed. Currently, unloading operations are underway. Starting from 7:00 AM, packages will be dispatched according to addresses. Dear citizens, do not bring food, medicine, or clothing. The government covers all expenses, and everything necessary, including brand new clothing, is purchased from stores. Do not raise donations, and do not contribute to the accounts of those fundraising. If you know citizens in need, please inform us promptly. There is a need for volunteers; I kindly ask those who can to register as volunteers.”
