The Deputy Commander of a Military Unit involved in a Bicycle Accident

Today, on May 29, a serious accident occurred in the Ararat region. Around 16:25, a Ford Fusion vehicle struck a cyclist on the 33 km section of the Yerevan-Yeraskh highway, in the administrative area of Vedi. Following the collision, the vehicle veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with a Hyundai Elantra traveling towards Yerevan. The Ford then left the roadway and continued about 20 meters into a field.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, five individuals suffered various degrees of bodily injuries and were transported to the Vedi Medical Center.

A criminal investigation has been initiated at the Vedi Investigative Division regarding the incident, where the identities of the drivers and the injured are being established. G. Shamshyan reports that the Ford Fusion was driven by the deputy commander of one of the military units of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia. The drivers underwent sobriety tests and were found to be sober.
