Ukrainian Ministry of Defense Clarifies Sirsky's Comments on French Instructors' Deployment

Ukraine continues negotiations regarding the deployment of French instructors to train the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as the matter is still not finalized, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. On the day before, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that he had signed the necessary documents for the deployment of specialists from France in Ukraine.

"The Ministry of Defense, along with the General Staff, has begun working on the relevant documents to avoid wasting time on bureaucratic issues when a final decision is made," the statement from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reads on social network X. The ministry clarified that negotiations are ongoing regarding the arrival of Western instructors by February 2024.

Oleksandr Syrskyi mentioned in a video conference with French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu that he has signed documents that "will allow French instructors to visit" Ukrainian training centers soon. Later, the French Ministry of Defense reported that the issue of the deployment of military instructors is still being developed.
