Ministry of Emergency Situations Reports on Lightning Strike Incident in Gegharkunik: One Dead and Injured

On May 28, at 12:37 PM, the crisis management center of the Gegharkunik regional rescue department received a report of a lightning strike in the field area between the villages of Karmirgyugh and Sarukhani, with injured individuals in need of rescue assistance.

A firefighting and rescue team was dispatched from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' regional rescue department to the scene.

It was revealed that approximately 7 kilometers away from the village of Sarukhani, a citizen identified as A.K. (born in 1965) had died as a result of the lightning strike. Two other citizens, A.S. (born in 1961) and V.I. (born in 1982), were transported to a medical center before the arrival of the rescuers, where their health condition was assessed as satisfactory.

The rescuers transported A.K.'s body by vehicle and handed it over to the ambulance service.
