ANIF to Be Liquidated

The Armenian National Interests Fund (ANIF) will be liquidated, as decided in today's government meeting. Before the dissolution, the management of the company will be transferred to the State Property Management Committee.

The decision to liquidate the fund was made back on March 14, 2024, under the leadership of the Prime Minister. However, the rationale for dissolving the Armenian National Interests Fund is not mentioned in the project justification.

The company was established by the Government of the Republic of Armenia on April 18, 2019. Its 100% shareholding, owned by the Republic of Armenia, was previously managed by the Ministry of Economy. Now, however, the management of these shares will be handed over to the State Property Management Committee of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures.

It should be noted that earlier, Azatutyun reported that the State Control Service conducted investigations in ANIF and revealed that the company had not effectively utilized the financial resources received from the state. It was noted that the National Interests Fund is a closed joint-stock company established by the Government in 2019. In recent years, it has been part of the Government and then the Ministry of Economy. Its goal is to attract foreign investments, boost export growth, and invest in Armenian projects.
