Azerbaijani Border Guards Have Taken Control of Four Villages in Tavush Region

Reports from Baku indicate that Azerbaijani border guards have already taken control of four villages in the Tavush region. This information is conveyed in a statement from the office of Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev.

The Mustafayev's office has stated that as a result of border delimitation, a border line of 12.7 km with Armenia has been established, which has "ensured the return of the villages." Previously, the National Security Service of Armenia reported that Armenia and Azerbaijan are deploying border guards in the "delimited area" starting today.

The National Security Service of Armenia's border troops have officially assumed responsibility for securing a 1.9 km section of the state border in the Tavush region's Berkaber community, as well as a 4.9 km section covering the Voskepar and Baghanis communities effective from May 24 of this year.

The protection of a 5.8 km segment of the state border in the Kiran community will be carried out on a transitional scheme until July 24, 2024. In a similar manner, the protection of the corresponding border sections by the Republic of Azerbaijan will also be conducted by the subdivisions of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan from May 24 this year.
