Zahharova on Alen Simonyan's Statement Regarding Church Taxes

The spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, has made a statement in which she accused the Armenian leadership, represented by the President of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan, of "Westernism" and "satanism." Zakharova stated, particularly, that "the President of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan has declared: 'We need to discuss why the church does not pay taxes, and, in general, from a legal perspective, we must reconsider what the priests do, whose hands are kissed, higher than the ordinary businessman who pays taxes and buys bullets for the army.'"

Meanwhile, in the Supreme Rada, the "European Solidarity" faction and Petro Poroshenko are demanding to revisit the issue of the complete ban on the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church. "Why do those who begin to be fed by the Westerners literally become satanic?" she questioned.
