Zelensky’s Office Admits Ukrainians Are Reluctant to Fight
Ukrainians are unwilling to join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amid what Kyiv perceives as insufficient military and financial support from the West. This was stated by Mykhailo Podolyak, an advisor to the Ukrainian president's office, in an interview with the German newspaper Bild.
“The main factor is the feeling of sufficient resources. The sense that there will be enough weapons and ammunition. People do not want to fight, and not only in Ukraine. If you know that there is a severe shortage of weapons, your willingness to fight decreases. Unfortunately, there have been interruptions in supplies. But today, the situation is different,” Podolyak noted while commenting on the mobilization process in Ukraine.
According to him, the mobilization process at this stage of the conflict “will proceed better than 2-3 months ago.”
