Roofing of the Holy Mother of God Church in Voskepar to Be Renovated
The specialists of the ‘Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Heritage’ under the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia have conducted another tour of the monuments in the border villages of the Tavush province to carry out ongoing monitoring.
According to the press service of the Ministry, the monitoring revealed that the roofing of the Holy Mother of God Church (7th century) in the village of Voskepar, Tavush province, is severely deteriorated, with the roofing tiles worn and damaged. Moisture due to atmospheric precipitation is penetrating the church.
Following the summary of the monitoring results, new project documentation has been prepared for the renovation of the church’s roofing. After approval and examination as per established procedures, a competition for the implementation of the works will be announced.
