Schengen Visa Fees to Rise in June
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia has announced an increase in fees for the processing of short-stay Schengen visas. The new regulations will come into effect worldwide starting June 11, according to the ministry's statement.
The cost of a Type C Schengen visa will rise by 12% for adult applicants, reaching €90, while the fee for applicants under 12 will be €45. Children under six years old will still not be charged for Schengen visa processing.
Currently, the consular fee stands at €80 for adults and €40 for children aged 6 to 12. The European Commission conducts a review of Schengen visa fees every three years based on inflation rates and the average salaries of civil servants within the European Union.
The Schengen Area comprises 27 European countries.
