Israeli Official: 'It Wasn't Us'

Israel is not involved in the crash of the Iranian presidential helicopter that resulted in the deaths of President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and several other officials, an Israeli official told Reuters on Monday.

“It wasn’t us,” the official said, requesting anonymity.

According to The Jerusalem Post, rumors circulated on social media suggesting that the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, was involved in the helicopter crash.

It is reported that the Iranian presidential helicopter made a “hard landing” on May 19 in Iran's East Azerbaijan province, resulting in the death of the helicopter crew and all passengers, including President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

The Iranian government has assured that President Ebrahim Raisi's death will not disrupt the work of the cabinet. This was stated in a message published on the cabinet's Telegram channel.

According to the country's Constitution, the powers of the president will be transferred to First Vice President Mohammad Mohbiri for two months. He will assume leadership of the country for the next two months, and new presidential elections will be held within 50 days.
