Iran Blames the U.S. for Presidential Helicopter Crash

Former Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has stated that the United States is responsible for the tragedy surrounding the presidential helicopter crash.

"The United States is to blame for the tragedy related to the president's helicopter crash," Zarif declared.

Despite a ruling from the international court, Washington has imposed an embargo on Tehran preventing the sale of aircraft and aviation spare parts, according to Zarif.

"This incident will be included in the list of U.S. crimes against Iran. The U.S. is responsible for the tragedy related to the president's helicopter crash," emphasized the diplomat.

Thus, Zarif indirectly pointed to technical malfunctions of the helicopter as the cause of the disaster. He also noted that he has known Ibrahim Raisi and Hossein Amir Abdollahian for 30 years, highlighting their sincerity and dedication.

"Both of them were extremely sincere individuals," said Zarif.

Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi was flying in an American-made Bell 212 helicopter, which has been in use for over 40 years. It is noteworthy that President Raisi of Iran was killed on May 19 due to a helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan province.

Also onboard and perished were Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, the governor of East Azerbaijan province, Malek Rahmati, and Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Ale Hashem.

The search for helicopter wreckage took 14 hours, complicated by adverse weather conditions, including heavy fog, wind, and torrential rain.

The funeral for the Iranian president will take place on May 21 in Tabriz.
