Foreign Ministry Responds to Reports of Raisi's Scheduled Visit to Armenia on Helicopter Crash Day
The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to reports circulating in Russian media that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was scheduled to visit Armenia on May 19, the day of the helicopter crash that resulted in his untimely death. The visit was reportedly postponed.
In response to a query from Armenpress, the spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ani Badalyan, stated, "Official information is provided regarding confirmed visits of high-ranking officials to the Republic of Armenia."
Earlier, TASS reported that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's visit to Armenia was set for May 19 but was later postponed. Raisi's helicopter crashed on May 19 while landing in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province, as he was returning from an inauguration ceremony of a reservoir near the border with Azerbaijan, accompanied by Foreign Minister Hosein Amir-Abdollahian and other officials. There were no survivors among those on board the crashed helicopter.
