We Are at a Turning Point: Bishop Bagrat

As our fathers say, medicine is one of the seven arts, considered the art of people endowed with divine grace. This was stated by Bishop Bagrat during a meeting with doctors.

"My dissertation was about the healthcare system in Armenia, its past, present, future, and theological perspective. The question was how theology could contribute to improving or developing the healthcare system. People often wonder what the connection between theology and healthcare is, but there is a very direct link. In theology, the statement in the scripture holds great significance when it says, 'And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.' These days, I wanted us to meet because we are at a turning point. You know broadly what is happening in our country and what challenges we face—not only geopolitically but also in the sense of our internal life," he stated.

The bishop noted that institutional life in our country is no longer functioning. "Everything systemic in our country has ceased. Every system in our country should be built on truth. When Mr. Danielyan invited me to the chemotherapy department of Muratsan for a meeting with doctors, I was surprised as to why specifically doctors and patients. I realized that doctors live day and night with suffering, whether they want to or not, they share the complaints and anxieties of people. And I recalled the law that does not include even a single line about the protection of doctors' care," he added.
