Residents of Tavush Border Villages Awaiting a Negative Event Amid Uncertainty
“We are in uncertainty; we are not being told anything. Probably, we will learn something from you as usual, you will find out, write and we will read it just like that fateful Friday,” said Andranik Nazaryan, a resident of Kiran. According to him, the same state of uncertainty exists in the neighboring villages of Voskepar and Baghanis.
“During several meetings, May 15 was mentioned as a deadline. We were told that something would be signed today, but what it is, we do not know. In Voskepar and Baghanis, they are also waiting just like us,” Andranik Nazaryan noted, indicating that villagers are in constant communication with each other.
“We are in the village, I am also in the village; we have not seen any surveyors yet, we have not seen new pillars. They say it has been temporarily stopped; perhaps it is due to the movement, maybe not, I don’t know,” he added, emphasizing, “We are tense and in uncertainty; they know this very well. They are keeping us in uncertainty (referring to the authorities).”
The response from the residents of Baghanis was also not particularly different. They are waiting anxiously for news, and it is not for something good.
