Gurgen Arsenyan on the Process of Voting No Confidence in the Prime Minister
The list of names should be published, we will see and discuss it. This was stated by Gurgen Arsenyan, a member of parliament from the Prosperous Armenia Party, in a conversation with reporters in the National Assembly, in response to the question of whether he would meet with the head of the Tavush Diocese, Bishop Bagrat.
Addressing the process of voting no confidence in the Prime Minister, Arsenyan noted, "No confidence is expressed through voting. Starting the no-confidence process and its conclusion are different things. For that, 54 votes are needed; how many are there? Therefore, the votes of the PP members are necessary, the majority in the parliament."
In response to the observation that the opposition insists that the current Prime Minister is incapable of governing the country, he said, "If he is unable, we will go to elections in 2026, and the capable one will be elected. A change of power can only occur through elections."
Arsenyan ruled out the possibility of public pressure leading to a change of government, stating, "Because there is no political crisis in Armenia. Public pressure occurs either during economic collapse or during political collapse."
The PP parliament member also answered the question of whether security issues could be a reason. "These are ongoing processes. Such issues can arise in all countries," he said.
