Gegham Nazaryan on the Impeachment Process and Yesterday's Incident

Deputy Gegham Nazaryan of the "Armenia" faction clarified in an interview with Armlur.am why he was upset yesterday and targeted a journalist. "Kiranzt is my hometown, and the painful events occurring around it naturally cannot leave me, to put it mildly, unconcerned and unmoved. I do not wish to discuss yesterday's incident again; I only want to say that I, first and foremost, would not want such an incident to occur, especially involving a media outlet and a journalist. Of course, not only would I not want that to happen, but I also regret the occurrence," he stated.

Regarding the statement from the "Armenia" faction that Gegham Nazaryan would provide additional clarification, he added, "Consider that I am providing additional clarification by answering your questions. I will reiterate, I respect, honor, and will continue to respect and honor the work of journalists and the press; I just wish that before evaluating the incident, acquaintances, friends, or those you consider friends would try to find out what actually happened."

He further clarified, "I have no intention or desire to leave the 'Armenia' faction." In response to the question of whether he would join the impeachment process, Gegham Nazaryan replied, "As for the baseless rumors that I would oppose or abstain from a potential impeachment, I will say clearly and succinctly: I am in favor of it. And I regret all those who, knowing that there has long been no personal and non-personal relationship between Nikol Pashinyan and myself, deliberately spread false news that we have close relations. Perhaps much later I will detail this and other incidents, rumors, and the directed campaign against me that has been ongoing for a long time, but certainly not now. Just one request: do not involve the parents of the heroic boys in all this. You can nail me to the pillar of disgrace, but leave my fellow sufferers alone. That’s all for now."
