Rain Expected in the Form of Wet Snow: Weather Forecast

On the night of May 16-17, precipitation in the form of wet snow is expected in the mountainous regions of the republic at elevations of 1800-2000m and higher. This is reported by the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center.

On the night of May 17-18, temperatures in the mountainous areas of Shirak, Gegharkunik, Kotayk, and Aragatsotn are expected to drop to around -1...-2 degrees Celsius.

In Yerevan, on May 16, particularly in the afternoon and the night of the 17th, rain and thunderstorms are anticipated, with possible heavy rain in certain areas and even hail. Short-lived rain and thunder are possible in the evening hours of May 19. During thunderstorms, wind gusts of 16-20 m/s are expected.

The daytime of May 17 and 18, as well as May 20-21, is expected to be dry. In the regions, on May 16 during the day and the night of the 17th, significant rainfall with thunderstorms is expected in many areas, while on the day of the 17th, rain and thunderstorms will occur in separate regions as well, potentially intensifying with hail.

Rainfall in the form of wet snow is anticipated in some mountainous areas on the nights of May 17 and 18. The daytime of May 21 is also expected to remain dry. Winds will be from the northwest at 2-5 m/s, with stronger gusts of 18-23 m/s during thunderstorms. The air temperature is gradually expected to drop by about 2-3 degrees during the nights of May 17-18.
