Putin and Xi Jinping Sign a Joint Statement

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping have signed a joint statement on the deepening of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation relations, marking a new era in the context of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, reports TASS.

The document was signed following extensive Russian-Chinese negotiations. As clarified earlier by Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the President of Russia, it is a substantial document consisting of more than 30 pages.

“Of course, it will highlight the special nature of our bilateral relations and outline the further pathways for the development of the entire complex of bilateral ties, supported by the leading role of Russia and China in shaping just and democratic orders,” added the presidential assistant.

It should be noted that Vladimir Putin is currently in China on a state visit, which is the first since being re-elected and assuming office.
