Video: Pashinyan, who knows, has drunk liters of Artsakh's mulberry vodka with them. Bishop speaks about captives in Baku
Tavush Diocese leader Bishop Bagrat addressed in a press conference the unlawful detention of Artsakh's political and military leadership in Baku, stating that it is an affront to all of us.
“The departure of this man also involves the story of liberating these people from prisons and suffering and returning them. We cannot live this way. This is not about one person; he is so small, and those around him are even smaller. This is about a bigger issue, the restoration of honor, justice, and truth.
What does it mean that Armenian people are in Baku’s prisons today? Each of us is there. Their names are not just names; it is not Ruben Vardanyan, nor Bako Sahakyan, nor Arkadi Ghukasyan, nor Arayik Harutyunyan, nor Davit Ishkhanian, nor Levon Mnatsakanyan, nor Davit Babayan. These are just names. They are we, our collective presence in Baku's prison—this humiliation and dishonor falls upon all of us,” he said.
Bishop Bagrat characterized the inaction of the Armenian authorities as a betrayal, stating, “This is the story of Judas. They sat with these people, shared bread and salt, and who knows, they drank liters of vodka—Artsakh’s mulberry vodka.”
It is important to note that among those held captive in Azerbaijan are eight representatives of Artsakh's political and military leadership, including former presidents Arkadi Ghukasyan and Bako Sahakyan, former prime minister Ruben Vardanyan, former foreign minister Davit Ishkhanian, former commander of Artsakh's Defense Army Levon Mnatsakanyan, and General Davit Manukyan.
