VIDEO: We Will Not Sell Our Land. Leave Us Our Home: Residents of Kiran Are Concerned

Edita

Residents of the border village of Kiran in the Tavush region of Armenia are raising their voices against the results of the delimitation process at the village council. They express dissatisfaction as it has been revealed that Armenian and Azerbaijani border guards will be stationed within the next 8-9 days, with a more sensitive part of Kiran being addressed later due to additional details needing clarification.

The government has promised to compensate citizens for any property issues they may face, either in property or financial terms, according to their preference. One resident mentioned, “We want to say that we do not need compensation; let them not waste money unnecessarily. We will not sell our land.” Another added that they are not available to sell their land.

Regarding the government's statement that 25 hectares of agricultural land, which have been inaccessible to Kiran for the past 33 years, will be returned to the village, the residents do not hold a positive view. They claim that the land has belonged to them, and it is not the case that Azerbaijan is returning it.
