Search Underway for Restaurant Employee Who Fell into River in Lori

On May 15, an emergency incident occurred in the Lori region. Around 16:40, the Lori Regional Department of the Police received a report from the National Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations that an employee of the "Yedem" restaurant complex, located on the Vanadzor-Alaverdi highway, went outside the restaurant around 15:30 and did not return.

According to Shamshyan, the head of the Lori Regional Police, Arthur Zakaryan, and the chief of the Bazum Police Department, Aram Harutyunyan, arrived at the scene. It was revealed that 58-year-old Yeranuhi G., a technical staff member at the "Yedem" restaurant, had gone outside for a break.

Rescuers, police officers, patrolmen, the entire restaurant staff, and citizens have conducted search operations for several hours and found cleaning tools (polyethylene) and other items in the Pambak River, which flows next to the restaurant. Preliminary information indicates that Yeranuhi G. fell into the river while performing cleaning work.

The search operations were suspended due to darkness. Documents have been prepared at the Bazum Police Department regarding the incident and have been submitted to the Lori Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. Search operations will resume in the morning.
