Mother Who Abandoned Newborn in Churchyard Found

On May 8, at 19:39, a report was received at the Malatya division of the RA Police stating that a gardener at the "Holy Mother of God" church on Romanos Melikyan Street had discovered a newborn baby in the churchyard. An emergency response team arrived and transported the child to the hospital. The relevant documents were forwarded to the investigative department, according to the Armenian Police.

As a result of the measures taken by the officers of the Malatya Division's Public Order and Criminal Defense Department, the identity of the newborn's mother was determined. The resident of Shirak Province, born in 2000, was located on May 14 and, along with the prepared documents, was presented to the investigative department.
