Russia is Ready for That: Sergey Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that if Western countries wish to resolve the Ukrainian crisis on the battlefield, Russia is ready for that.

"That is their right, if they want to fight on the battlefield, it will be on the battlefield," Lavrov said during consultations in the Federation Council regarding his reappointment as Russia's Foreign Minister.

Commenting on the upcoming conference in Switzerland focusing on peace in Ukraine, to which Russia has not been invited, Lavrov emphasized that the conference aims to present an ultimatum to Russia.

"It focuses on Vladimir Zelensky's formula and ignores other peace initiatives, including the Chinese one. The conference... ends up reaffirming the ultimatum directed at Russia. You know, it’s like calling a bad student to a teachers' council; they decide everything among themselves and then call the student to inform them of the decision. This is not how one can talk to anyone, especially not to us," Lavrov stated.

Moreover, the Russian Foreign Minister noted that if Switzerland was previously a neutral country, it has now taken the side of Ukraine.
