Peace in Ukraine Impossible Without Russia, Swiss Foreign Ministry

Switzerland is convinced that Russia must be involved in the peace process in Ukraine; the world is impossible without Moscow. This was stated by Pierre-Alain Elchinger, spokesperson for the Swiss Foreign Ministry.

“It is necessary to attempt to initiate the process of establishing peace in Ukraine. Switzerland is convinced that Russia must be involved in that process. It is impossible to imagine a peace process without Russia. By organizing this first conference, Switzerland is contributing to the support of discussions aimed at achieving fair and sustainable peace in Ukraine. An alternative would be to do nothing, and that is not an option for Switzerland,” he said.
