Bishop Bagrat Comments on Vahe Ghalumyan's Statement
The hereditary governorship is it normal? Is it normal for one brother to pass the governor's position to another? Don't open a topic, just say let him behave wisely. That's all.
This was stated by Bishop Bagrat of the Tavush Diocese during a conversation with journalists, addressing the statement of Tavush MP and member of the National Assembly's Civil Contract faction Vahe Ghalumyan, who mentioned that he once had coffee and bread with the bishop, but now 'has abandoned his main work and wants to engage in politics.'
Bishop Arcipresto Galstanyan asked reporters to clarify the professions of Vahe Ghalumyan and others who accuse him of not doing his job. 'I ask everyone who speaks to look individually at what their professions are. Ask Vahe Ghalumyan what kind of specialist he is, let's see if he is engaged in his own work,' he said.
When journalists noted that Vahe Ghalumyan graduated from the Yerevan State University branch in Ijevan with a degree in economics, the bishop responded, 'It's already very clear. He worked as an assistant to a construction organization’s foreman. So how could an economist go work as an assistant to a foreman?'
