Poland's Prime Minister Announces Presence of NATO Experts in Ukraine

Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced the presence of NATO observers and engineers in Ukraine. He stated that the alliance is assisting Kyiv in numerous ways, but does not wish to intervene directly in the conflict due to the Russian nuclear threat.

“Ukraine will not be able to manage without NATO. Moreover, there are already observers and engineers on the ground. We will see what happens, but you know, nobody wants a direct war,” said Tusk.

The Prime Minister did not specify how many experts are involved or from which countries they originate.

The Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera reported this week that NATO member states intend to officially abandon the idea of sending troops to Ukraine at the upcoming July summit. According to the publication, a relevant document is expected to be signed as a result of the meeting, with the draft already receiving approval.
