Have the Police Blocked Roads in Abovyan? The Ministry of Internal Affairs Responds
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia has responded to reports circulating on social media that police have closed roads in Abovyan to prevent people from leaving the city and reaching Yerevan to participate in the rally called by the "Tavush for the Homeland" movement.
In response to a question from Armenpress, the press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Narek Sargsyan, stated: "The traffic on the mentioned road was temporarily halted to ensure the safety of participants heading to Yerevan. After this section of the march passed, the road was reopened. Currently, only traffic on the Republic Square has been halted to ensure the safety of the participants, and there are no other closed roads in the country. We urge everyone not to spread unverified information."
