Dog Bites Head of Ministry Department, Who Then Shoots at the Dog

On May 3, an extraordinary incident took place in the Vayots Dzor region. According to Shamshyan.com, at approximately 5:25 PM, a 65-year-old resident of Vayots Dzor, Radik V., contacted the Vayk police department of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs. He reported that he was a guard for the company "Mav Shin" LLC, and that three individuals had entered the premises of the company in an unknown model vehicle. One of these individuals was attacked and bitten by a dog, and they added that they had fired at the dog with a weapon.

A police operational group, led by the duty officer of the day, was dispatched to the specified address. The police determined that at 5:00 PM the same day, 39-year-old Gegham M. from Yerevan, along with 44-year-old Samvel S. and 44-year-old Vahe M. from Ararat region, had entered the premises of "Mav Shin" LLC in a "VAZ 2121" vehicle to seek assistance due to a malfunction. There, the dog attacked Gegham M., biting him on the right arm and causing injuries. Following this, he retrieved a damaged "IZH" model shotgun of 16 caliber registered in his name from the vehicle's trunk and shot at the dog.

It was noted that due to the dog bite, Gegham M. sought treatment at the "Vayk Medical Center" for a laceration on his right arm. The Vayk police department has prepared documentation regarding the incident, which, along with the shotgun, has been forwarded to the Vayots Dzor regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee, where a criminal case has been initiated for cruel treatment of animals. According to website reports, Gegham M. informed the police and investigators that he works as the head of a department in the RA Ministry of Environment.
