‘Real Armenia’: The Background of Aragats in Pashinyan’s Presentation at the Press Conference

Six years ago, our political team and I took on the governance of the Republic of Armenia, at which time we prioritized servicing the agenda perceived as national objectives in our reality. This was stated today, May 7, by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press conference, as reported by NEWS.am.

“The comprehensive servicing of that agenda revealed conceptual and practical dilemmas that became evident particularly before the 44-day war in 2020 and afterward. Throughout this time, we considered it crucial to diagnose the mentioned issues, deeming their resolution vital. Our engagement with these problems has revealed not only their unsolvability but also their incompatibility with the ideas and practice of independence, sovereignty, and statehood. Some agendas have demonstrated their deadlock, the possible deeper objective of which is to hinder the establishment and development of our country, aimed at the strategic targeting of Armenia's independence and state sovereignty,” he stated.

Pashinyan emphasized the need to renew the strategic vision for the development of the Republic of Armenia, which is the basis for the vision of a real Armenia that he spoke about during the discussion on the implementation of the government program. The Prime Minister began presenting a slide show explaining what the Republic of Armenia is, its territorial size, the meanings of sovereignty, independence, and more. He reiterated that when we speak of the Republic of Armenia, we refer to a territory of 29,743 square kilometers. It is noteworthy that Mount Aragats is in the background of the slides.
