56-Year-Old Son Injures 83-Year-Old Mother in Vanadzor; She Later Dies in Hospital

On April 28, the Police of the Republic of Armenia received a report from the forensic medical examinations department of the Lori province that the body of 83-year-old Marsik H. had been transported from the "Vanadzor" medical center.

It was also reported that there was a cranial injury on the body, with the deceased's 56-year-old son stating that his mother had fallen at home on April 20, sustaining the specified injury.

The documents compiled by the Tavush division of the police were sent to the regional investigative department of Lori. A criminal case was initiated.

On May 6, as a result of joint operational-investigative measures undertaken by the Tavush division of the police and the investigative department of Lori, it was revealed that the 56-year-old son had deliberately inflicted blows to various parts of his 83-year-old mother's body, including the head, which is considered vital for life, with a blunt hard object on the night of April 19. As a result, she died in the hospital on April 28 without regaining consciousness.

The 56-year-old man has been arrested. The criminal proceedings are ongoing.
