Ministry of Education and Science Addresses Possible Fundraising During 'Last Bell' Events
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia has sent a circular letter to the Yerevan Municipality and the regional administrations, suggesting that they instruct public educational institutions to refrain from fundraising during the 'Last Bell' event organized for graduating classes on May 24 and 25.
In the statement released by the Ministry, it is specifically mentioned: "In connection with the end of the academic year, it is essential to exclude any fundraising while organizing the 'Last Bell' event in public educational institutions." A similar letter has also been sent to the directors of public educational institutions operating under the jurisdiction of the Ministry, as well as to private schools.
It is worth noting that in recent times, the Ministry has been receiving reports of fundraising activities related to the 'Last Bell' event in public educational institutions. The Ministry calls on parents of graduates and teachers to avoid excessive extravagance and to view the 'Last Bell' event solely as a culmination of the educational process, adhering to the substance of education.
Furthermore, parents facing forced fundraising are encouraged to call the Ministry's hotline at 010-599-600.
