Ministry of Internal Affairs: No Special Operations by Police in Tavush
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a statement clarifying that the police are not conducting any "special operations."
"Misinformation is being spread in the media claiming that the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are conducting 'special operations' in the Tavush region. This information is not true. The Ministry of Defense is carrying out demining work along the Armenia-Azerbaijan state border. As part of these activities, to ensure the safety of citizens, the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are providing increased services in demilitarized zones to prevent civilian access to mined areas. It should also be noted that during this enhanced service, 30 individuals have been brought to the police for violating Article 182 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, and they have been released after the preparation of administrative violation reports," the statement reads.
