Violence in Yerevan Against Elementary School Students: Information Forwarded to the Investigative Committee

A teacher at one of the primary schools under the municipality of Yerevan has been reported for psychological and physical violence against elementary school students. This was announced on Facebook by the spokesperson for the Yerevan Mayor, Hayk Kostanyan, who noted that relevant information about the incident has been forwarded to the Investigative Committee of Armenia based on evident facts. The Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, indicated the necessity of initiating the appropriate legal process against the mentioned teacher.

“The Yerevan Municipality will remain vigilant in protecting the rights of students in educational institutions under its jurisdiction, as well as the rights of educators, and will ensure proper oversight in this regard. The said teacher has been dismissed from their position,” the statement reads.
