A Group of Residents from Kiran will Meet with Pashinyan: What They Will Discuss
A group of residents from Kiran village in the Tavush region of Armenia has arrived in Yerevan to meet with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This information was provided to Sputnik Armenia by one of the residents.
The residents have come to discuss the issue of land exchange. It is worth noting that for the past 11 days, the residents of Tavush have been protesting against Azerbaijan’s unilateral territorial concessions.
Recall that the commissions for the delimitation of borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed on April 19 to begin the delimitation from the Tavush region. The Prime Minister's office has stated that as a result, Azerbaijan will gain 2.5 villages, while the Republic of Armenia aims for a reduction of security risks.
After the delimitation, armed forces will withdraw from the territory of four villages and hand it over to border protection units. Since April 19, residents of the border villages in Tavush have been organizing protests on the Armenia-Georgia interstate road. They oppose the variant of delimitation agreed upon by Yerevan and Baku.
