2750 Trash Bins Missing from Yerevan, Valued at 257 Million Dram: Where Are They?

The analysis of the activities of the 'Waste Management and Sanitary Cleaning' municipal foundation in Yerevan for 2022-2023 revealed that 201 metallic trash bins, valued at 138,000 dram each, worth a total of 27,738,000 dram, are missing. Additionally, 2,551 plastic trash bins, with a unit price ranging from 88,500 to 91,750 dram, amounting to a total of 229 million dram, are also unaccounted for. In total, this adds up to 2,752 trash bins missing, with a total value of 257 million dram.

This information was shared today, April 29, during a procedural meeting of the Yerevan City Hall by Acting Head of the Monitoring Department Anna Gevorgyan. Presenting the findings of the studies, she also mentioned discrepancies related to fuel and other products.

Mayor Tigran Avinyan noted that the relevant findings from the investigations should be forwarded to law enforcement authorities. “Our work is very responsible, and this responsibility is multifaceted; both improper organization is dangerous, and inaction as well,” Avinyan stated. “I hope that we all stay away from such situations and organize our work in accordance with the law and our decisions,” he added.
