Armenia's Engagement with the EU Does Not Exclude Good Relations with Russia: Tigran Balayan

The engagement of Armenia with the European Union does not preclude good bilateral relations with Russia, Armenia’s Ambassador to the EU Tigran Balayan told Politico.

Armenia's geography implies numerous historical and practical ties with Russia, and assumptions that Armenia would undertake a suicidal move by attempting to undermine Russian interests in the region are purely fictional.

"Armenia-EU relations are based on Armenia's national interests and do not exclude good relations with Russia, and this is what we want to explain to our Russian partners," Balayan stated.
