Investigation Underway into Incident of Stabbing a Tire of a Mercedes Near Kiran
The Investigative Committee of the Tavush region is conducting an investigation to clarify the circumstances of an apparent act of hooliganism carried out with a knife near the settlement of Kiran on April 27.
Specifically, on April 27, 2024, at 14:36, a report was received by the police that protesters blocking the road from the Kiran settlement to the area towards Voskepar had stopped a Mercedes vehicle and stabbed its tire with a knife.
Following the incident, a criminal case was initiated on April 27, 2024, by the Tavush regional investigative department, based on the qualitative characteristics of the crime defined under part 3 of Article 297 of the RA Criminal Code. As part of the proceedings, videos published on the internet documenting the incident have also been examined.
Through investigative actions and operational intelligence measures, the identity of the individual who punctured the car tire with a knife has been established; he is a 39-year-old resident of Noragyugh, Yerevan. The identity of the 17-year-old who handed the knife to him has also been determined.
The police have been instructed to locate these individuals and present them to the prosecuting authority. The preliminary investigation continues.
