The Yerevan-Tbilisi road has been blocked by citizens in the village of Vahagnadzor in the Lori region, protesting against border demarcation works. Among the protesters is Menua Solomonian, a member of the 'Hayakve' initiative, who stated live from the scene, 'There are several dozen people here conducting their protest action. This shows that there is an awareness in every settlement of Armenia that the issue does not only concern Tavush. It concerns the entire Republic, the entire Armenian nation. The process currently taking place will result in Armenia losing its strategic depth, and the Lori region becoming border adjacent. This process is occurring unconstitutionally.'

One of the participants in the protest added, 'In just a few kilometers directly down this road, a Turk will be waiting. We already have security concerns while sleeping in our own homes. Tomorrow, we cannot guarantee that our children will return home after leaving the house.'

The police are using loudspeakers to call for the road to be opened. The protesters stated they would end their action and open the road. It is noted that according to police reports, today, 29 citizens have been detained in various police departments, 17 of whom are in Yerevan.

It’s important to mention that today the section of the interstate road between Yerevan and Meghri at Tigranashen, the Yerevan-Gyumri highway at the Alagyaz section, and the Yerevan-Vardenis road at the Martuni section have also been closed. Streets in Yerevan have also been blocked; notably, the Khorenatsi-Zakyan intersection and Charents Street in front of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are currently closed.

Furthermore, the Kiranzi section of the Armenia-Georgia interstate road has been closed for several days.
