Tensions Rise on Khorenatsi Street

Tensions are running high on Khorenatsi Street. Citizens have blocked the road on Charents Street in Yerevan. The protest is also attended by public-political figure Edgar Ghazaryan, as well as members of the National Assembly and other officials.

A large police presence has detained participants of the demonstration, including Ghazaryan, Naira Zohrabyan, and Larisa Alaverdyan.

It is noteworthy that today segments of the Yerevan-Meghri interstate road at Tigranashen and the Yerevan-Gyumri highway at Alagyaz are also closed, as well as the Yerevan-Vardenis road in the Martuni area. Streets in Yerevan have also been blocked; in particular, the Khorenatsi-Zakyan intersection and Charents Street in front of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are currently closed.

Additionally, the interstate road connection between Armenia and Georgia at the Kiranzi section has been closed for several days now.
