Rapid Response Teams Deployed to Police Stations by the Human Rights Defender, Including the One in Noyemberyan
According to information circulated in the media and on social platforms, as well as reports received via the hotline of the Human Rights Defender, a group of individuals involved in protests has been detained on April 25 in various parts of Yerevan and in the Tavush region.
The Human Rights Defender's Office reports that, at the direction of the Defender, rapid response teams have been dispatched to police stations, including the Noyemberyan station, to meet with the detained individuals and to assess the situation regarding their rights.
According to police sources, today 29 citizens have been detained across various police departments, 17 of whom are in Yerevan.
Additionally, it is noteworthy that the Tigranashen section of the Yerevan-Meghri interstate road has been closed, as well as the Alagyaz section of the Yerevan-Gyumri highway and the Martuni section of the Yerevan-Vardenis road.
Streets have also been closed in Yerevan; currently, the Khorenatsi-Zakyan intersection and Charents Street in front of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are closed. Furthermore, the Kiranzi section of the Armenia-Georgia interstate road has been closed for several days now.
